I picked up one of these IP cameras manufactured by Foscam on Ebay relatively cheaply. The unit itself is a Foscam FI8903W, but this is not written anywhere on the camera, box or manual - I gleaned it from one of the promotional images the Ebay vendor was using.

The camera has a label on it with a model number: VNT6656G6A40, it turns out that this is actually the part number of the usb wireless module the camera is using. The ethernet MAC address of the camera identifies the vendor as Davicom (the manufacturer of the ethernet chip). There is a reasonable chance that this camera is an implementation of their reference design.

To get the camera working under ZoneMinder, first set up a "visitor" user on the camera. This user can view the feed, but not change any settings.

Now, add the camera to ZoneMinder as a "remote" camera, using HTTP as the transport, user:password@host as the hostname, and /video.cgi as the remote path. Finally, set the image dimensions to 640x480.

At this point, you should have the camera workinng in Zoneminder.

Sweet - I need one of those to figure out how the possums are getting into our plum tree.

They cost around AUD$130 on Ebay. They can also be found on dealextreme.com (these could be clones, rather than Foscam branded camera, I haven't bought any to check).
